Can a former member of a foreign army salute the American flag during the national anthem?

Usually this is reserved for U.S. Military current and retired, but what about a current or retired soldier from a nation that is an ally of the U.S. such as Britain, Israel, France etc.

Little finger tendon problem?

My little finger on only one (right) hand is starting to act up, i first noticed this 4 years ago but it hasn't really affected me until now. I've just joined the Army and i need to be able to salute properly, and do press-ups but when i'm saluting my finger goes into a slight ^ shape making saluting uncomfortable and it looks like i'm doing it wrong. This also happens when i'm doing press-ups which makes it very uncomfortable to do them too. Does anyone know what this is, why it is happening or what i can do to stop it? Thanks.

Can housing refuse notice extension?

I'm currently in the process of moving from a housing association house to private landlord. I gave in my notice for the house I'm in now and I have to hand the keys on 11th July. Me and my partner (Not living with me at present but moving together at new house) have a problem. He's not been paid his full wages and now can't afford the rent for new house. Its either the other way round or they're both ugly. White women no matter how attractive get ugly black men. So what is the actual relationship of the Commander and Chief to a soldier. Yes he's in "charge", but he's also just a civilian. I'm just curious because people in my unit are always making Obama jokes and our leadership snap at us saying "That's your Commander and Chief!" A legal question about employment?

I work for a Hotel in the housekeeping dept. This hotel has a 100% refund policy. This means that any guest that stays @ this hotel, is given a 100% refund on the cost of their room rental if they are dissatisfied for ANY reason. While there are a lot of HONEST people out there, unfortunately there are some who take advantage of this. Once they rent their hotel room they will then contact the front desk with some type of complaint. (Some are legitimate, others are not) This guest is then given 100% refunded the total price they paid for the room. When these complaints come in, most are never verified. The general mgr of this hotel has decided if a guest makes a complaint and the guest is refunded their money, the housekeeper who was assigned to service that particular room will receive a disciplinary write up and or a payroll deduction. The general mgr. has also started posting a copy of the hotel guests' billing statement on the wall of the employee break room. This posted billing statement contains the name of the hotel guest, their home address, the price paid for the hotel room and the guests' confirmation number. The general mgr. then writes on this statement the complaint given by the guest, and the name of the housekeeper assigned that particular room. When these statements are posted, the employee to whom it refers to is not notified there was a problem before this statement is displayed and yet all other employees see it. Isn't this a confidential matter for both the employee affected and the guest that made the complaint? Since the employee is given a disciplinary written warning that must be signed, and placed in their employment file, wouldn't that be considered confidential?

Honestly here's the reason why I think that is, training for spec ops as a civilian takes Money. You need to have access to a sizable pool like a 25m, you need access to excercise equipment which needs to be purchased or at a gym, if you are trying to enter a spec ops group with alot of emphasis in water training like air force spec ops or navy spec ops you need to practics fin swimming which costs about 75 bucks. If you aren't attending some sort of crossfit gym or another intense workout gym you need to have acces to a computer and Internet to find out how to do these wrkouts on your own. Minorities usually do not live in middle class or upper middle class enviroments or have that kind of income. That is why you will find less of them.

I'm 27 and have been riding english since I was 4. I actually have only ever shown hunter and my last show was when I was 17. So it's been 10 years. Tomorrow will be my first dressage show EVER! I'm competing in the 2011 USDF Intro tests A and C. I am confident about remembering the test and I just have to remember to focus on showing my horse and thinking one step ahead about what I'm doing and where I'm going. Riding her up and into the bit, maintaining bend, half halts into downward transitions, firm halt at X so she'll square up, balanced seat, etc. Since it's a small show tomorrow, tests are not split up into age groups. I'll be competing mostly all against kids. haha I'm also sharing the horse I'm riding with another kid at the barn I ride at. Ok so I know to smile when I ride in the test, as I salute, and also at the end. It can give the judge a good impression and help them remember you. What else can I do to be at my best? Everywhere I go I get singled out and people try to mess with me. I found a 2 bedroom apartment for $675 a month. I did the math and if I found a job that paid minimum wage and I work 8 hours a week i'd make $1152 a month. I added up how much food, water and electric bill with the rent. I would have to pay about $1080 a month. I would have $72 left over for assentials, but I would also get $185 a month TANF a month maybe more. So that gives me a little extra :) I'm also almost positive that I would get food stamps. I dont have to pay a cell phone bill because i'm on my dads plan. The goverment is helping me with day care so I only have to pay like $15 a month for day care. okay, my boyfriend was shipped out last month and his apartment complex just implemented a towing policy however, he has been shipped off when it started. he's an excellent tenant and even paid up his rent for a few months. Be kind but firm with your children. They need to know the rules, but they also need to know that they are loved by their parents no matter what. They don't need punishment, they need to learn how to handle situations appropriately. Why set up kids for failure so they can know failure? They will fail on their own, so set them up for success and keep the self esteem high, even when they fail. They will be able to handle failure better that way.

SHOULD I SUE THIS PLACE??

last year I was in student accommodation for my first year at uni. this was not the universitys accom. it was a general student accommodation for many unis. since the start i had problems with heating and they kept saying they would fix it but nothing for about a month. as it was winter it had an awful effect on my health and the line was crossed when I stopped getting warm water!! no matter how much they said they were trying to fix it i iknow they werent and i had no heating and hot water whatsoever!! as a result of this I missed a lot of uni because I was so ill and going out on the tube every morning in the freezing cold and wet only to come back to a freezing cold room unable to even have a warm shower was unbearable. I became so ill that I had to go back to my Mothers 60 miles away - this was fine, but i was missing uni! the only reason i couldnt move to other accommodations was because i had a contract with them and they would NOT release me! long story short (ish) I was finally released from my contract in January (i had to get my dad to make them!!) and i moved out - however this was 5 months into my first year - i have just received my results and i have failed 2 out of 4 modules because of the time i missed even though i tried so hard to catch up it was impossible, as this is their fault should i sue them for all the money i paid in rent (�800 per month for a tiny damp room and bathroom) and also for the money i had to pay to go to uni when i didnt even go!! i feel i deserve some compensation for this, it ruined my life as i now have to leave uni!! :(

My Roommate Wants to get a Dog?

So, my roommate and I are 2 single guys living in an apartment in the city. My roommate wants to get a dog and I am not sure this is a good idea. My roommate is flat broke all the time; he’s even borrowing rent money from me every month until the middle of the month. I had a serious talk with him about finding more income so he can start paying his share of the rent ON TIME. Now he wants “us” to get a 10-month-old puppy. Personally, I love pets a lot, but I am a very busy young man (working full time and part-time grad student) at this point in my life and I can’t afford the time, responsibility and costs that come with taking care of a dog. A dog would have to be my roommate’s sole responsibility, and I just don’t see that happening since he can hardly pull his own weight even now. How is he going to pay for its food or its vet bills? How will he pay me or the apartment back if the dog tears up my furniture or the apartment carpeting? I predict he's going to be borrowing money from me to pay for these expenses and asking me to help out with the dog when I'm pressed for time already as it is. I hate to have to sound like a bad person and tell him we can’t have a dog. Am I the only one who is sick of red box and netflix?

I was just wondering if I was the only one who felt like this? I use to love going into the movies stores and renting movies and going to the movies once in a while was a treat. but now it's like with netflix constantly playing any movie you want basically theres no need to ever even go to the movies..none the less go rent a movie. What Should I do? And do I have a chance?

School ended for me yesterday and I was a Freshmen. I'm one of those kids that think having 3 girlfriends/boyfriends a year is pointless and almost always used just to fit in. I have only had 1 girlfriend my life and that was in 7th grade, and there was no real love, just curiosity I suppose. Anyway, this year I found a girl I really found attractive, not only in looks but I knew she would only be a good influence on me, hardworking , athletic and the person that does the right thing etc. She was the only girl I was interested in the whole year, and I knew she wasn't the most popular girl (don't think this the wrong way) and such, resulting that not many boys would go after her, and me hoping I had a chance. I had gone after her the whole year but eventually had little hope left, so I planned that if I became great friends with her by next year, and so on, that a relationship could spark ( we were already pretty good friends). I wasn't planning on going after any other girl, she was like my "dream" girl you could say. I asked her to homecoming and she said yes but her parents didn't even let her go to the dance :( . I wanted to show her my feeling just to see if I did have a chance, so I wrote a cheesy poem and secretly put it in her bag. She had acted the same towards me so I assumed she read it and didn't like me, or didn't get it. Recently she gave me her number which excited me, and especially did when we texted 3 days straight, with her always being the first to text me. She brought up the poem and said she wanted to start out "slow," and get to know me. We kept texting, and I tried not to be annoying and we talked about each other's interests/ hobbies. I'm not in this relationship for sex, as I'm too young anyway. Yesterday she left to go on a 2 week cruise and I'm constantly trying to stop thinking of her, because then I know when she finally decides if she wants a relationship I won't be completely devastated if it's no. So when she comes back, and if she texts me back right away, would that be a good sign she thought about me? And then should I ask her to hang out (she already told me she would like to hang out this summer) , like a movie or is that too serious? And even then, how long should I wait before asking since she wants it "slow." Personally I try to be humble and not show off, and don't want her to be pressured at all. Since I have started renting the room, not only has he increased the rent by $120 a month, he has also moved in his girlfriend, her daughter and constantly has a houseful of people. My parents have been divorced for four years and this is the house we grew up in. She told my brothers and I the night before the sign went up. Her reason is because she want to live in a one bedroom condo and does not want the maintenance of a house. I understand and respect her reasons. However she then went about saying that she can't let my brothers "stand in her way anymore" and when I asked what they were gonna do she said it is "not her problem" . Long story short...I don't make much money nor have much in savings and I will be in need of a new car in the near future. I have asked her to lower my rent while the house is on the market so I could save up for moving expenses and a down paymt on a car and she said no. My father and brothers think I should just stop paying her. I feel bad doing that as I still use utilities. Should I just tell her that I can only afford to give her $400 end of discussion? BAH After Divorce in the Army?

I have filed for divorce in Texas, and it will be final after 60 days. I am an E-4, collecting the BAH W/DEP rate. Both my wife and I are on a lease off post that will last another 10 months. I currently have an allotment set up for the total BAH W/DEP amount that goes into her account since the rent comes out of her account. The landlord will not let me off the lease, and she has no way of paying the rent without me, and I cannot afford to pay anything without BAH. My question is, when the divorce is final, can I put in a 4187 to change to the without dependents rate for length of the lease since that was done prior to my BAH entitlement ending, or am I just SOL and going to have to go into debt with breaking a lease and having that on my credit? Fort Hood doesn't authorize BAH usually unless you are E-6 and above, and S1 wasn't any help at all when I asked them this question. If anyone has a definitive answer, or a reference on the reg governing this it would be appreciated. I am deploying very soon and need to make sure I'm not going to get screwed while I'm gone. What is the best way to gain Weight? Specifically muscle mass and definition?

I'm 20 yrs old male that is 5"6 and 117 lbs, yeah I know, pretty freaking skinny and small. I tried going to the gym but the nearest one is a little over in hour away and the gas prices was killing me so I stopped going. I still live with my parents and there on this NO carb diet, and eat vary little, so there is vary little food in the house. I have a job as a waiter but with them making me pay rent, and my cell bill , and other crap it's hard to fork over money to pay for my own food. Last year I bought some stuff I could use at the house, like the perfect push ups, iron gym, and I bought a bench press with a curling bar also. I was working out, for 6 months 6 days a week on everything, and I was only drinking water and 2% milk. I was trying to eat good, like peanut butter sandwiches and meat but again it got to expensive since I pay for everything. After 6 months I only gained, 3 lbs. So that was a BIG morale killer and I basically gave up. So now I'm on here, yahoo asking since You know my situation what is the best way to gain weight? I haven't tried protein shakes or weight gain pills, or anything like that, do they work? If so can I mix them together? Like take those pills and drink those weight gainer drinks? Which ones on the marker actually work? Or if there a waste of money, what should I do?

My grandmam died last night, and i'm not dealing with it well...?

I just found out that my grandmother has 6-12 months to live with only 2 being good. they have already called in hospice and after talking with my mom I think I will be saying good bye around Christmas.It's hard because in a way I'm already grieving and I don't want to do that just yet.I've come to the conclusion that the reason we grieve is because our loved one has so thoroughly loved us.It's sad but right now I need to make the most of the time I have and learn the few things she has left to teach me. Okay so I just started this new job, one week. I can't cope with life anymore, what can I do?

I can't cope with life anymore. My husband told me this week that he is moving out and wants a divorce. I don't know what to do, I feel like I can't take care of myself anymore. I can't work because all I do is cry. I went to work today but immediately was sent home because I'm an emotional mess. I'm a college student with about two semesters to go until I get my Bachelor's, but I can no longer pay attention in class. If this is true, it's clearly discriminatory, but not racist...that term is way overused. But this is an issue that the company will eventually have to deal with one way or the other. In the meantime, there's nothing written in stone that says you have to be happy for her, but until she has the chance to prove/disprove her capabilities, and if it is true that she had nothing to do with this...it would be absolutely wrong to punish HER for it...let alone quit your job over it. And as for resenting her, it would be wise to remember...for those who decide to stay with the company...that, like it or not, she will be in a position of authority. I would probably resent the company and it's policies more than I would her.

Cheapest place to live on Maui?

I am 22 and am considering moving to Hawaii for 2-5 months. I am trying to research what the job market will be like and what rent will be like and all of that but I need a little help. I want to know if this dream is possible. I want to get any job that I can. I work in construction right now, but I want to try something different for the time that I will be over there. I would love to find a relaxing job just working at a surf shop or something of that nature. Just as long as the job pays enough for my apartment rental than I am happy with that. Is there any suggestions on how I can make this possible? Maybe someone who has had a similar experience with this??

What causes seizures?

last year I started having seizures. after further tests the doctors concluded that they were not caused by epilepsy. They concluded they were due to stress from receiving subpoenas from a rape case that was taking over 2 years to start and was keeping me from enlisting in the marine corps because they couldn't release my counseling records until the man who raped me was tried. However, the trial began and ended last summer and I was seizure free for a year and then I had a two more. I believed they were also from stress due to the fact that my husband was not receiving his full paycheck and we were constantly borrowing money from family and were worrying how we were going to pay our rent or afford diapers for our son and I found out I was pregnant again. We recently discovered that they fixed his pay and we are going to be receiving all the money we should have been getting in the first place so we will be able to afford everything we need and then some and still be able to pay everyone back the money they lent us. I'm not stressed about anything anymore however when I woke up this morning I realized I had another seizure and have no idea what could have caused it.

I am 17 and live with my mom and step-dad. My step-dad is bipolar and VERY controlling. I have had a steady, part-time job for over a year. I am in NHS, band, FFA, and make very good grades. Every time I am home I am, constantly in trouble because I "didn't do the dishes" or that I "am never home and need to take care of my home responsibilities" even though my step-dad is the one who forced me to get a job in the first place. My step-dad often yells and honestly does things just to be mean, he says that's how he was raised and so that's how he treats us. I am not lazy and am a very kind person, I am just fed up with being treated like a dog. My step-dad has a 23 year old son, however he never knew he existed until he was 12. This is when his son came to live with him. He left his own father's home at 15, only 3 years after first meeting him, because of the way my step-dad treated him. I have everything planned out as to rent, bills, school, and my future. I would be moving in with my boyfriend who also has a steady job and is currently enrolled in college. We have been dating for over a year and me leaving home is not because I'm "in love" or "want to always be by his side". I would be living with him because his parents have a house that they let him live in and we wouldn't have to pay rent, just bills. We also work at the same place and it would be convenient. However I am not unrealistic about it. I know it will be hard but I've had time to figure stuff out and my family says they completely understand, they do not like my step-dad either, and will support and help me. I am tired of being treated this way and just need some advice, I only have 1 more year of high school and would be attending the same school I always have and would continue to work as I have since sophomore year. What are my options for defamation of character on my business?

I own a bounce house business and we rent both wet and dry units. The wet price and a different price from the dry price. We have had customers reserve a dry slide and then use it wet so we had to enforce a deposit. Unfortunately before we did that we had one customer do this so when we arrived, we did not charge her the full wet price but discounted it and she only had to pay $40 more than the dry price cost. The customer paid at the time with no problem but now she is posting negative reviews making up complete lies on Craigslist saying we arrived late when we did not and how we had no company uniforms which is all completely false. She is writing everywhere that we are a scam. I have contacted Craiglist and the postings do get flagged but she just keeps reposting and nothing happens. so i was sitting on the couch in my living room watching csi wearing a shirt with a peanut on it when all of the sudden, a green, flying elephant from saturn wearing a ballerina tutu tried to eat my shirt off. so i ran and got on my bike with no wheels and peddled it backswards up the great pyramid of giza, and once i got over the pyramid, i stopped to tie my shoelace. when i got back up, i was inside a super mario bros. game. when i was attacked by a flying turtle, for some reason i screamed mamma-mia, then the screen went black for 2 seconds before i landed in a place called oz, and some weird smelling guy told me to follow a yellow brick road to graceland to see elvis, but on my way, i fell into a black hole and landed in bikini bottom, where i sort of couldn't breath, so i ran into some underwater squirrels tree dome to get air where i was shot by al capone after i refused to give him a stick of my gum. after i was shot, i woke up naked (i REALLY wonder how that happened....)in some imaginary cartoon like place and realized i was a cartoon too. next to me there was a tootsie pop, and all of the sudden for no reason i just wanted to no how many licks it takes to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop, so i was walking around asking a bunch of talking animals, and they all told me i had to ask mr hitler. so i asked him, "Mr. Hitler, how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop?" So he took it and amazingly he licked it into a statue of him doing his weird salute in only just 119 licks. frustrated, i walked away only to fall into a deep dark hole, which i have been stuck in for three days. but all of the sudden, just like 30 minutes ago, my laptop came floating down the hole with angel wings, but once i grabbed it, the wings blew up (bummer). i don't need to know how to get out of here, there's just one thing i want to know before i die...if a tree falls down in a forest and no one's around to hear it, does it make a noise?

I think there are so many options I can see why you are confused. When in doubt, do nothing right away. You have listed the pros and cons of each move very well. Is your boyfriend your age? Is tatooing for the rest of your life appealing even if you could take your pets and your grandma? That is a huge question to ask yourself. Give yourself more days to ponder this. Not sure the cause of your bad home life but sounds like you need a change and if you go with your boyfriend you can get a job first of all. Set a date like the 4th or something to decide. Dont think about this issue all day but rather set aside mornings or certain times to deliberate it and do research on job possibilities you could get with your boyfriend. You need to prove that you can work under stress - and not be like a fish out of water. Unfortunately, how you appear in the interview for a fast food job reflects how you will be working in these stressful situations. Academics mean nothing in these types of jobs. If you have experience working in a team environment - teaching soccer, currently (not in the past) playing in a sporting team -= these are ways to prove your ability. That is what they are looking for. What they want is someone they can train and has a low probability NOT to move to a better paying job in the future - so do not mention your percieved money problems - that would be a red flag.
